Third case of mono - what next?

I had mono when I was 13 or 14. I had swollen glands, a fever and was extremely tired. It was short lived. I was only sick for about 2 weeks.
I tested + to mono again when I was in college. Same deal. Sick for about 2 weeks and then better.
I'm now 34. 2 weeks ago I had a really sore throat and fatigue. I went to the Dr thinking I had strep. The Dr's assistant called me back and said I tested positive for the EBV (meaning I had mono in the past) and also have a current infection. I don't feel as terrible as most people. My sore throat lasted about a week. I feel really weak in my arms and legs and need about 10 hours of sleep each night. I sneak in a nap whenever I can. I'm more weak than tired though. I've also changed my diet to a liver friendly diet because I feel like that's the only think I can do.

Why would I get mono 3 times?
I had Lyme's disease when I was in my early 20s. I got the bullseye on my arm and went in for immediate treatment. My thyroid has been tested several times in the past and it is fine. I often have a swollen throat/neck and fatigue so Drs test my thyroid about once every 2 years. I've been tested for celiac disease (my sister is celiac) and it is negative.

Do I just need to take care of myself better? I really don't understand.
The Dr didn't seem too concerned. She just had a lab tech call me and tell me to take it easy and avoid alcohol.
Do I just need to relax?

If you have recovered from mono pretty quickly in the past and are getting over it now again, I wouldn't worry about it too much. It may be that you are getting over tired or stressed and that may weaken your immune system enough for a recurrence. I'm pretty sure stress is what triggered everything for me last year at least.

Since you seem prone to mono recurance, you might try to take better care of yourself. Not that I think you don't, but I know how easy it can be to put other things first sometimes and we owe it to ourselves to make sure we are taken care of too.
