38 Year old minor ed

I have trouble maintaining an erection it seems like 75% of the time with my beautiful wife of 14 years. I am very healthy and exercise 6 days a week and have pristine cholesterol levels. Testerone is 849. My question is this. I took less that half of a 50mg Viagra (was probably 18 or 20mg, not more) and my erection 15 minutes later was like a steel rod. It would get extremely hard as long as 16 hours later if she stimulated me. Could this erection trouble be in my head since so little dose did give me huge erections almost 24 hours later?

I also thought of one other thing to add to this. I do become really rigid right before I ejaculate. Do you think this has any significance?

Thanks for the reply. I will give the book a read. I did notice it have been given poor reviews. I also wonder if all the erection troubles are in my head. I have been told I have anxiety by numerous physicians over the last 22 years. Some nights I dont have any trouble and other nights its like what the hell. I am taking a beta blocker (SOTALOL 80MG BID) and have been for the past 6 years.I asked my electrophysiologist if this could start causing the softer erections but he said more than likely not. But he said it is possible that is a factor. He told me to get off for a week and see what happens. I planned on stopping the meds 2/16. Anyways thanks.

Think of it as two opposing forces.  One force is the cause of the slight problems, and the other is the force needed to compensate for those problems or overcome them.  To overcome the problem all you need is about 18 to 20mg of Viagra in this case.  The fact that your problem isn't severe, doesn't mean it's in your head.

Make sure you don't have erections lasting longer than 4 hours.  I know it's a punch line in popular culture, but the truth is if you have an erection that's stuck you can cause damage and worsen things.

If I were you I'd read up on things and I'd recommend "The Potent Male" by Dr. Irwin Goldstein (1995) that explains how an erection works, and different physical causes for ED, and some solutions (there are more solutions since the book was written too).  In your case, I'd say this would be more of a preventative thing, so you don't do something down the road that can't be easily reversed, and maybe for peace of mind.  Sounds like you're doing well, and I wish you all the best!
