I am 36 yrs old and measure at 6'0, 160 lbs. I work as a truck driver and my duties include some heavy labor. I also workout regularly w/weights 5x/wk and do a lil cardio 3x/wk. In December, I had blood work that showed my TSH level to be at 6.37 mIU/L (high), as well as ACTH to be at 75 pg/mL (high). My symptoms during this time was constantly feeling sleepy, as well as sensitive to cold temperatures and a lack of sex drive. My sister and father both had been diagnosed w/low thyroid conditions and take meds for it everyday. I was put on 25 mcg Levothyroxine and after about 6 wks, my blood work came back normal for TSH at 1.30, ACTH at 27, and Testosterone at 302. Even though my levels seem to be in normal range, I still feel sleepy a lot and still have a lack of sex drive and 0 morning erections. I have tried 3 different type of sleeping pills that did not work for me at all. I would constantly get my sleep in about 2 hr shifts. I could go to sleep at 10pm and be awake at midnight, only to fall back asleep maybe hrs later. Also, when I do get erect, it seems as if it is a soft erection and not hard. I am starting to wonder if my testosterone level is low for my age or if maybe there is something wrong w/my pituitary gland. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
