Penis Foreskin, lesions
Doctor:
I am 77 years old and in very good health. Have one problem, small skin cracks (lesions ?) on the foreskin of my penis.I am not circumcised. Do not have phimosis. Last year my urologist said I had a fungal infection on my foreskin and only solution was circumcision. I did not have that done. Problem got better, until recently. I have good health habits and am particular about keeping the forskin clean. Any idea what could cause these small lesions and what could be done to prevent them from recurring.
Thanks,
Resco

Hello Sir,

Fungal infections anywhere in the body appear to be recurrent despite many therapies. This has happened with multiple patients, you are actually more fortunate to have these lesions in a location which can be addressed surgically, many times fungal infections on the face are required to be treated by hydrocortisone creams, etc. which do not provide long-term treatment. You can try to put stronger creams on the tip of your penis in order to rid yourself of the infection, but if a certified urologist has already deemed your course of treatment to include circumcision, thats what we are also most likely to recommend. Prevention of recurrence with these are difficult and only involve more medical creams, or medications.

Thanks!
