Practice Physician and I run his solo practice. During 2004 Hurrican Ivan, I fell and had a left paracentral Herniation of L4 L5. Minor pain med control and massage therapy contained the problem to merely sciatica down left leg and constant numbness of left big toe. Six months later, second MRI showed spontaneous regression (was 50% out and 50% left at first with a six millimeter slice by itself) of 50%, So it had healed 50% with only mild compression
to the left, no sign of six mm disc material on mri. Hadn't given any problems for years, xrays 4-08 show a very slight maybe 5% tilt to my spine because of the disc. 8-5-08 I had a minor car wreck, not my fault. Not wanting to bring up my issues to my father, I saw a chiro for sudden numbness in left arm and fingers
and no space left at l4 l5. My father was informed and had me do an MRI of neck and back. Just inflammation at neck, but L4l5 is now "best described" as an annular bulge with an eccentric annular tear and degenerative disc disease at s!. I used to feel "blockish" when my back acted up around the pelvic area. My massuese would work on the area and I'd feel great for months. NOW, I feel loose around the pelvic area and I can actually feel my big toe again, but bowel movements feel distant and difficult and far between (5-7 days inbetween) and difficult. Also, I'm only 35 and my wife's is my high school sweetheart and hot, so we've always had an active sex life, suddenly we've had sex three times since the accident. The first time, was in the shower and I just could get erect, just not get anywhere towards my orgasm. I felt distant. Second time, she wsa done and I tried and tried and finally gave up trying to ejaculate. And tonight, I tried and now cannot maintain even. The tip feels numb, the underside I can feel, but its distant or delayed. My father has me set up with Neuro next week, but I'm just wondering does this sound like it has to do with the disk at l4 l5? Because this is a small town and I'm a popular doc's son, I kind of get 'express' care. The MRIs were all read by 'friends' but I didn't get to sit down with him like normal because he was out to lunch when I had the MRI and usually we look together through everything. I plan on having all the MRIs and Xrays to take to Neuro to make sure they look closely at them and don't skim them like I normally get done. But I read online about candia equina or something in online Wheelus' ortho textbook and I'm just looking for I guess some assurance or direction. Its difficult to wait until next week. Can a loose disc or disc material work itself into 'mucking up those functions'?
To top it all off, the kid that hit me is a doc's son too who lives three houses down from my doctor father and my own FP lives next door to the kid....and I live in the next subdivision over. Small town.
Any advice, reassurance would be greatly appreciated, or even concerns to look into. Thanks.
same problem here. disc bulge 4/5 from gym accident, never thought anything of it until started having weak erections! Went to doc, they dismissed the connection, still being tested by urologist. Have testetorone tests underway but I am convinced pain in the *** is the reason for this.
