Testosterone Test Results

Hey All,

Can anyone help me decipher my below testosterone numbers? It appears as though I'm on the low side of normal. I have had erection issues in the past and still find it hard to maintain an erection or achieve one. I can still engage in sex but like I said, it is not where NEAR what it was just a few years ago. Please note I'm only 25. Thanks.

Total Testosterone (Male): 459 ng/dL (Reference Range: 300 to 1080)
Sex Horm Bind Glob: 33 nmo1/L (Reference Range: 11 to 80)
Bioavailable Testosterone: 252 ng/dL (Reference Range: 131 to 682)
Free Testosterone: 80 pg/mL (Reference Range: 47 to 244)

I don't really understand why I would be on the low side. I literally exercise (both lift weights and cardio) one to two times per day and have an impeccable diet. Just wondering if these levels would be the reason for me having a lowered sex drive and an difficult time achieving erections.

Also, if the reason for a lowered testosterone count is related to my weakened erections, would Viagra help this?

Hi stef_72,

Thanks for the quick response. Here's my follow-up question.

Less than a year ago, I broke up with a woman I had been dating for nearly a year. Not once did I EVER have trouble getting an erection with this woman. In fact, I would get erections when I didn't want to get them and actually have difficulty getting them to go down.

My question is, is if I was able to engage in normal, ED-worry free sex less than a year ago, is it likely that my erection difficulties are related to a physical problem? The relationship I'm in right now is definitely a bit more stressful but I only find that I'm having these difficulties with the girl I'm with right now. So much so that I have trouble achieving and maintaining an erection when masturbating and things that used to easily turn me on, take a lot more coaxing to get me aroused. I've been to four different urologists who have all thought that this is more of an issue with my head however, I find it hard to believe that my mind would have such an impact on me nearly a year later after being with this girl. I will admit that I am a daily marijuana smoker and have been for years. However, it's never affected me AT ALL when it comes to sex. I've had many many partners over the years where this was never an issue. Please Help!

Hi Big, It's your free testosterone that is important for erections, its a bit on the low side. What you can do, is take a Zink suplement every day. ex. "Zincotabs" 22,5 mg its availabe at your pharmacy. You will see a difference after a week. Maybe you just have a lack of zink. Slow wound healing and white spots on your nails are an indication.
You also need to test your Prolactine levels in your blood, Let the docktor take 2 blood samples with a half hour in between them to test your Prolactine levels. Prolactine is bad for a mans erections, normaly your prolactine level should only be high after orgasm, thats why a man can't keep erection after orgasm. Only a woman should have high Prolactine levels when she's pregnant.
Also go to bed soon for a few weeks, it might help also, even if you dont think so.
Any erection pill will help, if its you first pill, take Cialis 20mg, it stays 36hrs in your blood. Thats why they call it the "weekend pill" That way you have more liberty to have sex when you want.

succes.

Hi All,

BTW, I should mention that when I talk about having ED issues I'm referring to situations such as the following example.

Last night, I had performed oral sex on my girlfriend. Normally, (at least a few years ago), this in and of itself would have me rock hard. However, last night there was not even the slightest hint of arousal. It was only until I stimulated myself manually that I was able to achieve an erection. I mean really...is this normal for my age? I feel like I should be able to wield a rock hard erection still just from some mild kissing. Needless to say, this has me very concerned as I do not want this to be a gradually declining condition. Please help.
