I’m 23 now. So about 4 years ago I foolishly pushed down on my penis while erected. All the regular signs of penile fracture came up, pain, hematoma, popping noise. so a days later I went to the urologist and he told me there was nothing wrong, but inside I knew there was something wrong because my penis was extremely numb.
A couple months go by and my penis is still numb, but I could still have erections standing up. It was just numb. So one day I was masturbating and all the sudden all the sensitivity came right back to my penis. So I jumped for joy. It’s been so long without feeling that I was foolish enough to try again. I called the urologists office to get advice but they were closed. So I decided that I was going to masturbate one more time. So I masturbate with the sensation I got back and I orgasmed but my ejaculate was like 30-45 seconds off. So I panicked wondering why my ejaculate was 30-45 seconds off. So I foolishly masturbated again but this time I had no orgasm, but I ejaculated. So I was extremely confused. So foolishly I grab the base of my penis with my right hand and squeezed it tightly. Then my sensitivity went away and i was numb again. Ever since then the underside of my penis is numb. And the right side is numb too. Overall the penis is numb, but I think the underside and the right side got affected the most. It’s a lot harder to hold an erection, especially standing up. Also after I masturbate it feels like theirs blood clogged. It feels like the blood is not properly flowing.
I think before the time I got my sensitivity back temporarily I took a penis Doppler and it came back fine. I just recently got an MRI done 4 years AFTER the trauma, which came back fine as well. My urologist says there’s not much that can be done. No scar tissue can be seen from the MRI. He says I could get another penile Doppler done, but even if there is a venous leak there’s nothing he can do about it. So I just canceled the penis Doppler.
I’m not sure what to do. Should I just do the penile Doppler again? It has been 4 years since I have taken the test or should I just go to a neurologist.
Even if I do go to a neurologist how can they heal a nerve?
Also when I got the MRI my technologist was an amateur. He didn’t give me an induced shot so I could get an erection. Don’t you think it would be a lot easier to see scar tissue with an erection? Because I’m sure I can definitely feel the scar tissue, but it doesn’t show up on the MRI because i was flaccid.
Should I just hold off on masturbating for a month? I mean it’s already been 4 years, but I still masturbate daily.
I believe I have your same issue, a venous leak. It's sad you telling me the doc told you they can't do nothing about that. I'm currently working with my special urologists and we didn't get to that point yet. However, I'm not going to tolerate such an answer. I suggest you go to an urologists that specialize in erectile dysfunction. Not all urologists are knowledgeable in that field.
As far as masturbation goes, it is consider normal and healthy. However, with my own body and current penis problems, I believe I get better erections when I don't masturbate. If I do decide to masturbate, like 1 time a month. Excessive masturbation is not good for my sex libido and condition.
You should stop masturbating daily at once. It's unhealthy. If you've been masturbating daily, no wonder you have erectile dysfunction. I know doctors tell you it's totally healthy. Untill a few months ago, finastride was deemed a safe treatment for hairloss and BPH (check out www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIDM2N1MuWw and bbc dot co dot uk/go/rss/int/news/-/newsbeat/12040303 for serious side effects of propecia. They are doctors not gods.masturbating daily is unhealthy. I know for a fact that masturbating daily is unhealthy because I was in your shoes awhile ago. Even if you have venous leakage that doesn't prove anything. There is still hope.
Myron and Agent read these articles on venous leakage. I copied the sources fropm another forum:
“Testosterone undecanoate restores erectile function in a subset of patients with venous leakage: A series of case reports”, Author(s): Yassin AA, Saad F, Traish A, JOURNAL OF SEXUAL MEDICINE, Volume: 3, Issue: 4, Pages: 727-735, Published: JUL 2006
“Dramatic improvement of penile venous leakage upon testosterone administration. A case report and review of literature”, Author(s): Yassin AA, Saad F, ANDROLOGIA, Volume: 38, Issue: 1, Pages: 34-37, Published: FEB 2006
“Testosterone Improves Erectile Function in Hypogonadal Patients With Venous Leakage”, Author(s): Kurbatov D, Kuznetsky J, Traish A, JOURNAL OF ANDROLOGY, Volume: 29, Issue: 6, Pages: 630-637, Published: NOV-DEC 2008
Another paper tells what exactly happens with tissue with leaky veins:
Apparently, it is not as simple as one may naively think that ‘leaky veins’ means a ‘hole’ or not properly working valve in vein. In reality it affects fiber structure of penis tissue. No wonder the surgery is not very effective in this case.
Earlier article found statistical correlation between leaky veins and higher estradiol level, i.e. higher compare to men with ED but not leaky veins:
“Increased estradiol levels in venous occlusive disorder: a possible functional mechanism of venous leakage”, INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF IMPOTENCE RESEARCH, Volume: 17, Issue: 3, Pages: 239-242, Published: MAY-JUN 2005
As I gather, it's mostly hormonal. testosterone-and estradiol-related. I suggest you do a full hormonal panel (adrenals, thyroid and sex hormones) because it's not as easy as saying that high total testosterone is enough because you may have low free/ bioavailable testosterone due to, e.g., high shbg. I suggest the following:
*free or better yet bioavailable testosterone
*estradiol (better be the sensitive assay)
*cortisol serum 8am
*cortisol salive 24hr
the astrisked ones are very crucial. If you've been masturbating daily for a long time, i bet you have low vitamin d, zinc, , testosterone, cortisol, lh, fsh, and free t3 and elevated tsh, estradiol. remember the levels have to be healthy for your age. my total testosterone was 390 on a scale of 300-800 and i'm 27. most doctors said you're fine. basically your hormone levels peak at 27 so i was like this is bullcrap. they couldn't tell me better because they didn't know. they just know what is written in their books. I bet if you ask a urologist or an endo about estradiol they would say it serves no sexual function in men. look at the article above, people with venous leakage had elevated estradiol levels. you go figure.remember elevated or low are relative terms. elevated doesn't mean 2 or 3 times above the high end of the normal range. it means elevated for your age. If you doubt me read on the normal tsh levels and the controversy surrounding a common disease such as hypothyroidism in the medical community.
What did you do and your urologists do to resolve your situation? You said you were once in our shoes so I guess you no longer are. So what was your resolution? I already did stop masturbation like that and I do get better erections but I still experience venous leak.
Well, I ran the rigidity test, the results for which were disappointing (to the uro). I knew i would fail the test because my impotence was not psychogenic it was a result of overmasturbation. then, after much reading on the forum i posted earlier and a couple of others dealing with sexual dysfunction esp recover dot forumup dot org which deals with masturbation-induced sexual dysfunction, i ordered blood workups of the ones listed above. I found an endo who was a good listener not necesarily a good endo because i've seen the top endos of my country and they said it's all in my head so I prefered an understanding doctor who can monitor my health and prescribe medication. that was my goal. the results showed that i had elevated estradiol (30 on 10-36). this is elevated for my age. and low testosterone and free testosterone, low thyroid (high tsh, low t3), low adrenals (cortisol, progetserone). I'd read that if one's to take the hormone replacement therapy mode(hrt), it's better to start with adrenals so i stated with hydrocortisone at first then switched to pregnenolone and now prometrium, then i went on levothyroxine and cytomel, this gave a good boost to my testosterone and brought down my estradiol. other than these, i'm on hcg/testosterone and letrozole to control estradiol. You're lucky that you have erections at least, i was impotent for a few years. stopping masturbation is not gonna cure you. i'm sorry to say that. keep it in moderation. you seem to be a rather mild case so don't overdo it. i dont know why the medical community doesn't recognize this damning condition. now i'm 85-90% better.visit the forums i posted, you've gotta a lot to learn about hormones. BTW, i live in asia that's why i never had the chance to work with top anti-aging doctors but if you live in the US, you're in luck. there are a few good doctors there.
BTW, i'm gonna bet that you have lowish testosterone (meaning less than 500-600), elevated estradiol and most probably low cortisol. order labs and see for yourself. no body believed me before my labs showed up that I would have these too but when they saw that my labs reflected the results I'd predicted (meaning low testosterone and elevated estradiol and low cortisol), they were dumbfounded.
bottom line is most the urologists know very little when it comes to erectile dysfuntion, venous leak, or anything related the penis UNLESS it deals with prostate or peeing. It urks me because every visit I go for cost me money and I have medical insurance and right now I still don't have any solid answers. As of today, not one urologists has phyically examine my penis yet. Everything is blood tests and I keep telling them my problem has to be internal. My next visit, my urologists is suppose to test my blood flow levels thru my penile arteries and viens. I wish I could go back several years and never discover how to masturbate. I also think back in the day a stripper sat down on my erect penis to hard and that cause some trauma. I'm working with what I have but man I am consider hard work to most women. They tell me they are use to men having an erect penis as soon as they pull down their pants, just from kissing, but that is not my case.
I feel ya bro. even if you have venous leak, see the above links it's all hormonal unless there has been some freak accident which is unlikely. in the meantime don't let it get to you. take cialis or viagra. but again if your hormones are way out of whack, these wouldn't work either. I know what you mean. uros and endos really suck. but at the end of the day you're the one that has to make choices to take care of the problem whatever it takes.
so how are your erections now? u get morning erections? I don't even get that and its been years. I told one urologists and his dumazz try to say I don't get them because I pee at night. Another urologists told me waking up with a full bladder has nothing to do with morning erections. So that goes to show some of them don't know jack.
So how are your erections? Are you using any medicine? Are you maintaining erections during sex? Is it hard for you to get one before sex? The only issue I don't have is going down during sex but before sex sometimes there be some issues and this is with medicine (cialis, etc.)
well, the second urologist is right. it has nothing to do with peeing. one more thing, If you don't get nocturnal or morning erections, then it is not psychological. as for my erections, i don't have a problem with getting an erection, the problem for me is how to prolong ejaculation time (usually 5-7 mins). we (I and others on the ED forum) are trying different supplements and drugs to come up with a reasonable long-term solution. You cannot believe what works in that department. a simple solution we found was acetaminophen/paracetomel which prlonged ejaculation time. however, we'd rather take supplements. it seems to me that you're a mild case, with some twitching here and there you'd be good to go. but you need to address the issues right away and don't fall into your old habits because it WILL get worse. believe me. now I'm on promerium (micronized progesterone), levothyroxine, cytomel, hcg/testosterone and letrozole (very small amount). I don't need cialis, viagra anymore. the downside is that this is for life. there is no magic cure for this it's only treatment and monitoring symptoms every day. but we're not alone. look at the forums i mentioned there are a lot of people with these issues.
I don't have the premature ejaculation problem. I know how to go/stop go/stop during sex. I just pull out when I think I'm about to ejaculate, get my mind right, and go back in LOL. But I actually like that as being part of sex. That's how I know if the vagina is real good or not.
Yes, once a month should give you some better erections because you're working with a stronger sex libido.
In my younger days, I use to sleep on my stomach and didn't realize that during the night when I'm getting erect I'm not allowing my penis to rise and suppressing it (by laying on my stomach) I believe thats the reason I have an erect penis that points downward.
I never had my penis feel numb but I did realize that all those days I been vigorously rubbing my penis head, that reduces the sensational feeling I would feel when my penis head is being stimulated.
I hope there is a fix for venous leak but from what I'm hearing so far, there isn't.
Do you get morning erections? As I told leoneed, I never get them. Its been years. I'm trying to get an explanation from the doctors.
Squatting won't inflict any harm (least u tear your quads from overloading) on your condition.
Numbness and ED can occur over time for cyclists from sitting on bad bike seats, putting pressure on that area's nerve. But there's no other sports related injuries leading to our kind of condition.
After reading about your history I'm glad u got some piece of mind from seeing various specialists. I felt like I wasted my time seeing this top NYU urologist who ran ultrasound on me after an injection to cause an erection. Both my blood work and semen tested normal (of course).
Trauma: overly physical masturbation where I tried to have multiple orgasms, causing the trauma/damage. I was pumping the shaft very vigorously trying to squeeze more blood into the penis then I thought I heard a popping sound.
Symptoms: pain around the corona, looked bruised, and the head of my penis would not inflate properly. Erections were painful, could not masturbate.
After a long time erections were fast, normal length of time, shaft full but noticed a small bump on a vein on right side right below head, present only during erection.
Orgasms are routine and mundane, lacking any apex of sensitivity. Takes a very long time to achieve them. Penis reacts normally, goes flaccid after orgasm.
Changes over time:
For a long time I felt numb then one day of trying rehabing through bouts of masturbation, the front side nerves were revitalized some how. To this day the underside remains very numb and frenulum lacks any kind of sensitivity. Top of penis has regained some sensation but tapers off immediately after reaching the underside.
Have only seen specialist and he said nothing could be done. Only real test was ultrasound. The trauma occurred over 10 years ago.
did the specialist see find the scar tissue or plaque?
i just recently took a doppler ultrasound
3/10/11 doppler ultrasound = no scar tissue, no plaque
i have a question for you about my latest ultrasound doppler. we couldnt find any scar tissue ,but do you think the reason of that was because the scar tissue was lower on the penis? not allowing the ultrasound doppler to find the scar tissue? i was flaccid. so it kind would make sense that she couldnt find the scar tissue because maybe the part that had the scar tissue on my penis was inside my body.
going back to my note on January, I finally vist the specialized urologists and concluded that I have a slow leak blood flow to the penis. What's the cause I don't know and the doctor don't know.
How he tested it, he injected a little bit medicine into my penis that makes you get erection without the use of your mind and then he had some machine that was testing the blood flow for speed. He told me doing this way will give him a better reading vs. just using the machine alone with no injection to the penis.
He told me he can see the blood going into the penis but it's not going at the rate it should. Therefore I may have issues for the rest of my life and medicine like viagra, cialis should help the situation.
So maybe this is a test you want to get checked out. Again, you need to visit an urologists that specialize in erectile dysfunction.
yea but the urologists you visit may not specialize in erectile dysfunction. trust me, I went to 2 urologists before I went to the right one. I had to google urologists that specialize in impotence and it came up with specific doctors in my area.
