22 working out, dieting and yo-yoing with my weight

Hey,

I am a 22 yrs old female 5'4. Ever since I been in college I have seen myself gain about 2 to 5 pounds a year. I weigh about 142-145. It depends when i weigh myself. My weight yo-yos a lot and I am tired of it. I have been pretty athletic since 5 grade because my doctor suggested running since i had really bad asthma. I ran track since 5 grade onto college. I also played softball and soccer in hs. I have good stamina and can walk for days. But in college finding time to workout was a problem. Whenever I had time I worked out 2 or 3 times a week. The more I worked out the more I would lose weight, but eventually gain more back.
Last year I was really sick with stomach problems and it turns out I had acid reflex problems and gastritis. Gastritis is caused by certain spicy or acidic food. It is inflammation of the lining of your stomach which is where I have most of my junk. I always felt horrible and bloated and knew I had to do a whole lifestyle change. Since I graduated from college I have been working out 4 to 5 times a week usually a hour or 2 per day. I do interval running, do bikrum or hot yoga. I believe my body is getting used to all that so I am doing kickboxing now and bikrum. In the past 6 months of me working out i have lost 4 to 6 pounds and gained it back lost it and gained it back. UGH it is so frustrating. I am stronger now and look more lean, but I can't get this scale to go down. I eat healthy except on certain weekends. Everything I eat is whole wheat. I hardly eat processed foods. I have carbs about once a day. Usually a whole wheat toast. Weekends I eat more. I use sparkspeople. I am going to see a nutritionist next week. Anyone who can tell me what I am doing wrong please do. I need constructive criticize. I am thinking of replacing 1 or 2 meals a day with a gnc lean shake. Any advice?

Hi,I have calculated your body mass index which comes out to be 24.4.this is in normal range which is 20-24.9.you should not be worrying much about this. Whatever you are doing like exercises and good balanced diet is all what recommended. Keep yourself cheerful and continue your efforts to get good results. All the best.

Bikram is somewhat known for causing either weight gain or lack of loss.  It builds a lot of muscle, particularly in your core and legs (all those balance poses).  If you feel slimmer in your clothes you are losing fat and gaining muscle.  So don't worry!
Do you do your yoga in the morning?  If so, maybe your headaches are from leftover dehydration.  I would make sure you are well hydrated and maybe try a sports drink for electrolye replacement.
Good luck!

LOL thanks. Someone suggested me measuring myself. I fit into my clothes way better and people have told me I look slimmer and leaner. I will see what the nutritionist says. I am cutting down on portions now and trying to be extra extra careful.

Keep the appt with the nutritionist and LISTEN  to her/him! If yoiu mess your metabolism now it will be that way for the rest of your life. Also, muscle weighs more than fat, so you absolutely could be building muscle while losing inches but weighing more.
If I was you...and I once was...TOSS THE SCALE OUT A WINDOW (look before your toss, so it doesn't hit anyone). It will be the most empowering thing you ever DO for yourself!
