Abdominal Problems

I have been running for several years, like 30 years. I am in good shape for a man my age. I am wondering if I may have a hernia? It is not extreme pain, but after I run, I have pain in pit of my gut...also, when I eat certain foods...I amy have GERD. Pain sometimes goes to all of lower abs...thanks for help. Ron

Thnks for your comment. Can an inguinal hernia cause delayed pain pain after running? I went to the doctor and they told me that I do have inguinal hernia.....I have had this for a year now. However, I do not have any localized pain in the area of where the hernia is located at....doctor also stated that I have Gastritis.....can gastritis cause the dull pains....I think I need to take more water and watch my diet. I feel great and do not have major main....thanks again for your help. I guess as a runner, i am more aware of my body pains. (:

Hello!

For hernia the most common hernias are inguinal and femoral. With pain you cannot think it is hernia till you have a reducible or irreducible swelling. Abdominal direct hernia is quite uncommon and did you have any surgical procedures previously?

You need to take your food on time and drink enough water to have acid related problems: abdominal pains and GERD. You have to visit a gastroenterologist for proper diagnosis. Avoid spicy food, pickled food, smoking, alcohol etc which causes more of these symptoms.

Take care!
