Back of Knee strain
Hello.  The back of my leg/back of my knee is very sore, and it feels like the tendons are too short and I'm inclined to resist straightening my leg.  It feels hot (swollen?) and is a little painfull.
I am not athletic, and this is not an exercise injury.  I do garden, however (lots of heave hoeing).  And my knee is what I call a bit "wonkey" ie gets swollen sometimes around the knee cap and there's definitely creaking when I go up stairs.
Can anyone tell me what has happened, and how I best treat it?  Gratefully,

I have back of the knee injury which I believe was caused by a machine at the curves gym.  I have iced, elevated, rest, and compressed.  Today after several days the swelling has gone down and I am impoved.
