Hi all. I had a baby in Sept and have about 10-15 pounds I want to lose. I've never been an exerciser and I've never really had to watch my weight but I want to wear a bathing suit this summerSummers eve anti-itch and not look horrifying! LOL
What's the best way to tone up your stomach......
If it's sit ups, which ones work the best.....
yeah.. spot reduction is a bodybuilding myth... when you do crunches with the plan of reducing the abdominal's bdyfat, all areas are concern.. not just the abs.. myths had long forth lived with us. if you wanna shed fat, then you got to lower ur caloric intake and burn more.. that may be through earobics or weight training alone... and karen's right, your diet plays a major role too...
overeating too much carbohydrates is bad just as too much protein.. why dont you enjoy eating.,. masticating the food well in your mouth.. this is a great way wherein you will reduce the amount of calories u are taking in one sitting.. those who gorges are most often the ones to develop more fat. try eating small frequent meals.. and stay away from empty calories... chocolates are bad if taken in excess... enjoy the process of dieting .. dont kill youself straving your body... that wont help either.. thus, reduce the amount of foods u take and properly masticate so the nutrients would be well distributed and absorb by ur body...
Hi there,
If you were not an "exerciser" before it does make it harder. There really are no quick fixes or magic pills. It is hard work. If you are serious, find a good personal trainer. The key to that is actually interviewing them and not making any on the spot decisions. Take notes and take into consideration their personality. I suggest looking for an NASM certified trainer.
Proper exercise is important but there is so much more to it. You need to be emotionally and mentally ready. If I have a good rapport with a client I will suggest a pychologist and or a homeopathic practitioner.
I would also suggest two other tools I use: A DVD or book called The Secret and an other book called The Weight Lose Cure "they don't want you to know about. I read the book for other health reasons, depression, chronic yeast and overgrowth of yeast, chronic fatigue syndrome... I personally have just started phase 1 of the protocol, as they like to call it.
i haven't exercised in a few years now and i just got on a diet and exercise about a week and a half ago. im 6ft tall and i was 196lbs. now i am at 187. i don't know if this would be a good advice or not but my diet is basically 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast then at 5 ish or so i grill a piece of chicken breast with broccoli and spinach. and about an hour later i get on the treadmill and run jog walk etc. i do a 45 min run and not used to it yet but in that time i do 3.5 miles. (started with 2 miles in 45 mins so its progress) its probably not too healthy but its fast. my goal is to loose about 15-20 lbs more.... well till i can get my 6 pack back.
I understand what your saying, but unfortunately what is actually happening is you are dehydrating your body which is why you got high weight loss right away. Carbohydrates are our energy, fats are there secondary for energy, but protein is there to rebuild your muscles, tendons etc. and is the worst source of energy. High protein diets cause our bodies to become dehydrated giving us the illusion of weight loss. Look up info on health risks for "atkins diets" and you may start to understand you are actually depleting the body of very improtant health requirments.
To lose fat from belly you need to start doing some cardio exercises like running or bike riding 3-4 times a week for 30-60 minutes. You need to support that with low fat diet and you should see results pretty fast.
Good luck
