Calf pull

Calf pull

Approximately a week and a half ago , I received a calf sprain while exercising. The sprain appears to be healing slowly , but what worries me is there is quite a bit of swelling around the front and back of the calf. The elastic from my socks leaves a pretty deep indentation When attempting to run the pain is near the top of the calf closer to the knee.I would appreciate any information on this matter

Hi,

I would advise you to take rest. Do not indulge in activities that cause pain like running, jumping etc. Also application of icepack to the injured area may help. You can try taking OTC pain medications which will help subside the swelling and pain. While lying down always keep the level of your lower limb higher than the heart, this will also help reduce swelling.
