Chest bruising

by Marea, Jun 14, 2005 12:00AM
My son told me that while he is exercising, usually doing pushups, his chest turns a red color then starts turning black, sometimes going up to his right arm, kind of looks like bruising. Then, when he quits exercising it goes back to normal, but he doesn't always feel like stopping the exercise. He just gets scared when the bruise-like spots start to appear. He is 23 and we can take him to the doctor, but I have worked as a medical transcriptionist for 25 years and have never heard of this. He is also taking a new vitamin. Do I need to take him to the doctor real soon, or what is this?
