Confused

Why am i still bloating when i eat healthy and work out daily. The scale is showing the amount of bloat instead of the results of all my hard work. I have been losing four pounds a week since i started..the fourth week was menstruation time and i know i will bloat around that time but i am now on the fifth week and the scale is not calculating weight loss at all. Can someone tell me what is happening please.

Try not eating gluten or dairy for a week or two and see how you feel after. I have the same problem :/

I'm confused about where you said that the 'scale is showing the bloat".  A scale reflects weight, not bloat and the two are not synonymous especially on the long term.  

Not knowing your complete story I would make this suggestion.  Especially if exercise is something relatively new to you, that may be where you experienced your weight loss.  After a period of time, your body begins to actually pack on muscle (which is smaller and more dense than fat) and you may see the scales not move or perhaps you may see weight gain.  In those regards, the weight gain can be a healthy thing!

Personally, I hate scales.  When I am working out hard, I weigh in once a week.  I use my my clothing as a guide.  Even though I may be getting more muscular and "gaining weight" my clothes fit me better.  

In my case, (I'm a man) I started an exercise program when I tipped the scales at over 300lbs.  I got down to 270 and began to hit the weights real hard.  All of a sudden I quit losing weight.  I was stuck as 270lbs but where I was making changes were in my individual measurements.  Arms more muscular, chest more muscular, back more muscular, legs more muscular....  people were amazed that I weighed 270 still!  So in short, 270lbs of muscle is smaller than 270lbs of fat.....  This may be whats happening to you, so use your clothes for measuring changes or even a tape measure.

Now, certain fruits and vegetables can cause some amount of bloat.  For me (and I guess its a common problem) bananas and potassium cause me to retain water.  Normally this is a very short term problem, but I love bananas.  The more I eat, well, the more water I retain.

Along the same lines, vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower tend to make me more gassy.  The bloat in those regards is more mental than physical...  gas builds up in the stomach and makes me feel bloated.  At the end of the day, I don't weigh more I just feel like I do.

Check your diet and it might not be a bad idea to speak with a professional dietician.  You can discuss your goals, diet and exercise routines and come up with a plan that better suits what you want to accomplish.  And, sometimes a little tweak to your diet and routine will help you hit those goals.

In closing, don't pay the scale any more attention than once a week.  Watching it every day is a nuisance and causes worry.  Something you may not know is, depending on the time of day you can weigh more.  First thing in the morning we typically weight less.  So if you are going to rely on the scale, weigh in at the same time every day.

I have been eating a lot of fruit and veggies, nuts and grilled chicken. Steamed, griiled, and i also like smoothies. But i am beginning to think that the chicken is making me bloat. I know that some veggies will bloat, so i do watch my portions.

I'm the same way! I'm a vegetarian I eat healthy and excersize at home and I'm still bloated! Glad I'm not the only one :(
