Controling heart rate

I dont run but my question relates to cardio type exercises. Eliptical, bike, etc.
My routine is that I start off with a brisk walk on treadmill to get myself loosened up and elevate my heart rate into the 130's. Usualy between 5-15min. I then lift on machines, generaly working upper boady and abs. After I go to cardio and try to do  min of 30 min. This is my problem. My heart rate will jump well into the 150's qick and many times will go all the way into the high 170's. I have to nearly stop to get back into the 140's. At the high rates above 150 I feel as though I am going to black out. I am not "in shape" but I want to get there. I feel like my heart rate is really holding back my muscles from working and burning the fat.

Hello!

I would suggest you to visit a physician and if required go for a tread mill test. Get your lipid profile done, blood sugar measured, blood pressure measured and also check all your vitals before you proceed.

If everything is normal then it is a matter of days when your heart rate will stabilize while exercising. Till then you can go for walks.

Take care!

When heart rate reaches that level I feal close to blackout. As long as I am concious is it ok to go forward?
Also last time I exercised I found that during my cooldown my heart rate would jump around. Came down to 126, jumped back to 145, slowly came down around 130, then jumped again before finaly setling around 130, At that point I felt comfortable to be done with cool dawn and go home.

Hello!,

When you are starting new and want to be in shape do not do any exercise hastily. Health body and proper BMI of 25 can only be achievable over a period of time.

Plan a good diet chart, have proper breakfast and do cardio for 30-45 minutes regularly controlling your heart rate to 150-160.

Also check your vitals near a physician as most of the time the readings are not proper in machines.

Take care!
