Desperate help please

I have tried alot of fad diets and finally came to conclusion of how to lose weight by healthy eating and excercise, thorugh this i lost 5 stone which i am chuffed with.
However, i've been trying to get he last half a stone off for about 3 months now with no luck. i was consuming 1500 calories a day and about 300 calories a day at gym lost about 2 pounds and got stuck on this.
Now i've been trying with 1800 calories and burning 500 at gym and still the exact same weight, its so upsetting because i really and trying and am getting go down about it.
Any help would be much appreciated.
oh i am 20 years old, weigh 66kg and am 5ft 7.

Thanks

Hi there!

The mantra to a healthy body weight is a healthy lifestyle. If you are aiming at losing weight, it is important to calculate your current BMI and the target BMI. The target BMI should be in a healthy range. Aside indulging in moderate amounts of physical exercise it is also essential to maintain a healthy diet plan. One would need adequate amount of calories to support the basic metabolic functions and if you work out vigorously, your required calorie intake rises. A healthy diet should consist of adequate amounts of carbohydrates, proteins, fat and plenty of ‘fruits and vegetables’ to supply vitamins and minerals. If one aims at losing weight, one may increase the protein intake slightly (poultry, eggs, meat, pulses etc). It is also advised to rotate between various workout schedules. If working at the gym, you may like to skip two days a week and go for options like aerobics, swimming etc. The workout regime needs to be balanced, along with a healthy diet as recommended for the height and the physical work. Make sure to keep your body adequately hydrated. Also a healthy weight loss should be aimed gradually. With steady and ‘healthy’ efforts you should be back on the tract of losing weight soon.
Hope this helps.

Take care!

Thank you for your reply :)
I did up my workout ( i jog instead of walking)
But i will try doing jogging on one day then walking on an incline the next and see if that helps.

I have two days off a week, is this enough do you think?

have you change up your exercise routines at all? i know you said you've up your calorie intake, but also at the same time is burning more calories. sometimes when your body is so used to doing the same thing for a long time, things become pretty easy and your body doesn't have to work as hard. i say you're probably at that plateau state. that can be tough especially when you've worked so hard and know you're still working hard to lose those last few pounds. i'm no fitness expert, but from my personal experience, i would say you should still maintain a healthy diet and keep exercising. but be sure to change it up with some high intensity workouts on some days and on others with some lower intensity workouts. mixing things up can really confuse your body (don't do the same workout day in/day out) and therefore could result in some positive change. remember to make sure you give yourself plenty of rest days in between workouts. good luck and stay positive! i'm sure you'll get to your target weight in no time. :)
