Dizzy/Light headedness during exercise/other

Hi, this may be better suited to a different forum but couldn't find a more relevant one.

Anyway, i hope you can give me some advice, i've been to the doctor but it's like talking to a robot (been meaning to change for years but i very rarely go anyway).

For about 2-3 years i've been 'suffering' from occasional sudden light headedness, to the point where it really feels like i'm about to pass out. Although i haven't actually passed out yet, it's extremely awkward in many situations because all i want to do is get the hell out of the room/wherever so as not to make a scene if i was to pass out.

To begin with, it seemed to only occur when i was in very formal and unrelaxed environments and usually when standing up for a longer period of time. But then it happened once when i was on the motorway and i simply had to pull over and my brother had come get me in a taxi (very expensive!) - that time it lasted for several hours. Admittedly i was somewhat hung over, but certainly not over the limit (and i'm not just saying that) - i've had much worse hangovers and there have been no problems.

What does this have to do with exercise? Well, about 8 months ago i decided to get fit (i've always been average weight for my size so not obese or anything) and started going to the gym after work, usual stuff, some cardio - running, cross trainer, some weights etc. Then i started getting this light headedness (and i think that's more accurate than calling it dizzyness) while doing the cardio mainly. And it's not because i'm exhausted or anything, physically i feel like i could keep going, but i have to cut it short because i get a sudden head rush and it really feels like i could drop!

I also get it mildly sometimes when finishing a set of weights, so it seems to be whenever i exert myself physically, or like in the formal unrelaxed environments mentioned above.

Right now, i'd consider myself to be pretty fit, i quit smoking about a year ago, i don't drink often (anymore!), and my diet is well balanced. Fitness was something that i thought it could be down to but it's still happening. Although, it doesn't happen everytime i exercise, or every time i'm in an uncomfortable environment, it just can come without warning, and it's really doing my head in (excuse the pun)!

I've found that going to the gym before work has helped a lot, and i should probably mention that i spend all day at work in front of the computer and a lot of the time when i'm at home as well (i also have another job which i do from home) but not sure if that's relevant.

Hello!

The best part of you story is you quit smoking and drinking of alcohol. You have a well balanced diet and have these symptoms whenever you exert yourself.

I would suggest you to do outdoor activities like walking or swimming.

The most important thing thou is to monitor and keep all your vitals in normal range. Check for pulse, blood pressure, fasting blood sugar, lipid profile, ECG etc and follow up with a physician during your dizzy spells for further probing.
