Drop in heart rate while running

I notice many times, once I start running on trade mill, heart rate starts increasing to 160. Then I continue with same speed maintaining the heart beats. After few minutes (say 5-10 min.) my heart rate drop to 80. nce I change the speed, heart rate again back to 155 to 160 within few seconds. Does anyone knows why?

Hello!

The first thing you have to do is check if the treadmill is properly calibrated; and also measure your heart rate manually.

Ask your partner or friend to manually check your pulse or confirm by following up with a physician. It is important to have a proper resting heart rate and also a normal blood pressure.

If your body adapts to the higher intensity for longer time then your heart rate can normalize but with increasing speed and intensity continuously you should have tachycardia i.e. increase in heart rate and slowly stabilizing and not dropping to normal.

Take care!
