Early pregnancy and high impact aerobics

by Dubaimom, May 08, 2007 12:00AM
I am about 6 weeks pregnant, I plan to continue with my high impact aerobics classes for the 1st trimester, is this safe?  I have always worked out so my body is used to it.  This is my second pregnancy, during my 1st I stopped exercising and regretted it.  I am currently doing 3 cardio and 2 weight classes a week.

I've got friends who are marathon runners who ran during their first trimesters. As long as your ObG doesn't feel it's contraindicated, you're fine. I agree with you that it's better to stay physical through the pregnancy than to be sedentary. One of my runner friends switched to swimming during the latter part of her pregnancy. Good luck.
