Elevated heart rate after working out

by bishop5508, Mar 05, 2007 12:00AM
I am unsure how fast my heart rate should go down after running. My resting heart rate is about 65 bpm, while running for about an hour it will go up to 140 to 150…. Now after I stop it will slow down to 85-90 bpm in about a minute but will stay there for two to three hours before lowering back to 65… Is this normal…. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I have the same issue.  my heart rate stays up for an hour or two after a workout.  I have had an acute MI and a stent implanted, but the doctors all say any fine, that I should excercise more.
