Hi-
One great way to increase your running speed is to try running in intervals. Run a fast sprint for 60 seconds and then run again at a normal jog for 60 seconds.  This is a really great thing to do on a treadmill. The treadmill I use has an interval workout where I can specify how long and what speed and then specify the recovery. This definitely works for increasing my running pace. It's supposed to be great for weight loss but I haven't had any luck with that.
