I do have a herpes zoster outbreak (2nd after one year). It's on my thigh, although it hurts a lot, I'm on medication, can I keep jogging or walking? Or ist better to quit until the outbreak goes away? Exercise is my stress reliever....

Hi,,

The incidence of herpes zoster increases with increasing age and other factors such as an immunocompromised state, stress, poor nutrition, chemotherapy, and steroid use.

Management of herpes zoster include medication fo rthe pain, antiviral agents, and measures to boost immunity.

If you have already been started on the abovementioned medications,
you will need to focus on improving your nutrition and immunity

This necessitates the addition of a few essential vitamins and micronutrients, such as Vitamin B, C, and A.

It would be best to rest the affected area until the eruption clears up so that occurence of postherpetic neuralgia can be avoided.

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
