Fast Heart Rate

Fast Heart Rate

I am a 17 year old girl, soon to be 18. I weigh 116 pounds(fit), eat healthy, and don't smoke. Recently in statistics, we measured our heart rate and mine was the highest in the class...around 92 bpm. I have always had higher heart rates compared to everyone else my whole life, but I don't feel unhealthy or get dizzy. When I hit the gym over the summer, my bpm goes up to 200 bpm. Should I talk to a doctor about this? Am I unhealthy?

Hi, the normal heartrate for adults is 62 to 100. So that means 90 is okay if you don't have any other symptoms like palpitations or anxiety. There is no harm in discussing this with your doctor when you visit him next time so that he can check the character of your pulse. If that is normal and then everything is okay. An exercising heartrate of 200 is possible for you as you are just 17 years of age. All the best.
