Full Fat

Hi!
Is it REALLY okay to use full fat dairy? I like heavy or regular whipping cream with my berries. I feel like it's the one treat/dessert that really satisfies my sweet tooth while on low carb diet. Thanks much!

Full fat dairy is considered healthier by many than modified products, while others advocate non- or low-fat.  For health purposes, avoiding dairy would be the best thing, as most people don't tolerate it very well but don't always notice that until later in life, but if this is just an occasional treat and you don't notice increased inflammation or mucous then go for it.  Goat milk is better than cow's milk, as goats have a similar digestive system to humans, while cows are pretty weird in how they eat.  But you might not like the taste.  Most milk advocates would say drink only raw whole unhomogenized milk or, if you must have pasteurized, sill try to find unhomogenized --  but that's getting pretty far into it if, again, this is just an occasional treat.  By the way, thought it's not low carb, things sweetened with rice or barley malt won't affect you the way sugar does -- they are complex carbs that will turn to sugar more slowly in your system.  They're not as sweet, but it's a popular way of sweetening in Oriental cultures.

Heavy cream depending on the brand some have 0 carbs and some have 1 or 2 carbs. Now I assume you're not using the whole container! But if you make a little whip cream it's not a problem.
