Having trouble losing weight

by CHopkins, Jun 04, 2007 12:00AM
I have been on Synthroid since 12-04.  I had my thryoid removed at that time, and my weight leveled out, and haven't been able to lose less than what I was at that time.  I just got my levels checked and the Dr's office says that I am high, so they are lowering my dose.  So now having a lower dose, means that I am still not going to be able to lose any more weight..  Before I had it removed, I was right around 120..Since then I have had 2 children, and after having the baby, I can only lose down to what I was the day I had the thryoid removed.  What else can I do, I don't exercise much, but I never really have.. I am starting to cut calories to under 1000 a day and still not getting results... The Dr's office says that if I kept my dose at what it is now, I am at a higher risk for heart disease, and osteoperosis..  What do you suggest I do..

Start working out. You may have cut your calories to low. But it is real important to workout, it helps speed up your metabolism.

some people actually gain weight with their thyroid too high. SO going down to the right dose might help u lose weight. I have gained weight while hyperthyroid.u will have more energy too if your on the right dose.
