High heart rate during moderate excercise

Hi guys,

I have a question concerning my heart rate. When excercising on a treadmill at a pace of around 10 km/h (6.3 mph) my heart rate quickly rises to the 175 range. I'm not overly tired at this speed and I am able to continue running at this speed for about 40 minutes. After quitting, my heart rate drops to around 145 within the first two minutes. Is this heart rate normal or are there reasons to be concerned (I had an ECG 6 months ago that showed normal, resting heart rate is 60 bpm)?

Thanks in advance!

Joost

Try warming up before exercising. Do no go on an empty stomach for cardio, eat enought of protiens and balanced diet with complex carbohydrates daily. Check all the monitors if they are working properly or not, there are errors in machines. If it does not help then go for some primary tests to a doctor. Take care!

I recently started checking my heart rate because all the sudden I can barely run a mile whereas less than six months ago, I could run 4.5 miles fine.  All of the sudden, my heart rate goes from 160 after 0-5 minutes of running to 166 after 5-10 minutes of running and hits 177 after 10 minutes of running.  I keep up this pace for about 5 minutes and have to stop (nearing 180 bpm) whereas less than 2 months ago I could run 4 miles no problem.  I get lightheaded upon standing too fast and have to take cogentin to counteract the muscle stiffness in my legs from the 2 mg. of Trilafon I take per day.  I am concerned because I could always run at least 3 miles with no problems but have recently experienced extreme fatigue and I am running over 10 minute miles whereas before I was running 9 minute miles or less.

Hi,

Your basal heart rate (heart rate while not exercising) is absolutely good and the rise of your heart and the drop which occurs after stopping the exercise is also absolutely normal. There should not be any concern or worry. Please be assured, everything is absolutely normal.

I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted. Kind Regards.
