IS THIS POSSIBLE ??

IS THIS POSSIBLE ??

Hi, i would very much appreciate yr input.

i ve started brisk walking about 5 months ago.
i bought a wrist watch that counts pulse rate.

so today i used it . i started with hr of 86. it started going up gradually.
20mins  or so in the workout i counted again it showed 64!! could it be a mistake ??
i wasn't having chest pains, out of breath or anything.

i finished the workout at pulse rate of 140 and 2 min recovery period was 96 pulse rate.

should i panic now or is there a chance the machine could have measured it wrongly since i was walking when i
measured it ??

pls answer i am freaking out.

i am 33 with hashimotos underactive thyroid and mvp with slight regurgitation .

did a stress test 3 yrs ago.

Hello!

You heart rate or pulse increases with any form of exercise and this is called tachycardia.

If it decreases then there might be a problem with the reading. You can place your hand on your carotid pulse under your jaw or check the radial pulse yourself after comparing it with your device. If you find discrepancy do not follow the device as it might be faulty.

I would suggest you to follow up with your GP regularly for your thyroid problem and also to check your indicators. Athletes have a very controlled pulse rate, they have pulse rates below 60 because their hearts are strong enough to pump large amounts of blood.

Take care!
