I am a 22 y.o. female, 5'1", going on week 3 of insanity workouts. I am usually active, I tend to get into continuous periods of a regimen and then stop for a few weeks up to a month. I seem to be putting on more weight, as far as the mirror goes. My arms and legs look "round" rather than toned as they usually are, but I look toned when I flex. My abs are also getting stronger when I flex (I see some 6-pack definition), but again my belly looks bloated when relaxed. None of my body looks toned, or none of the results are noticeable, unless I make an obvious contraction of the muscles.
I wasn't really working out too hard before starting insanity, but from January-April 2014 I had done 45 mins of cardio per day plus some sort of strength training for about 30 minutes about 4 days a week.
Could someone please help offer some sort of an explanation as to why I am looking bigger? :(
