Lovehandle Question

As a child I was diagnosed with scoliosis and had to wear a brace. I have recently noticed that most of the fat around my stomach is focused on left side, making it look like I have a big love handle on one side, while the right side remains normal. It makes my body unproportional. If I start exercising will my stomach look normal?
