I am a medical student currently doing a rotation through a pediatric endocrinology outpatient clinic, and came across a 9 year old girl positive for a disease-associated mutation in the MC4R gene with a dominant mode of inheritance, leading to early onset obesityObesity and health Overweight.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions the forum may have regarding:
1. Management of children with an MC4R mutation
2. Refering me to sources which detail the processes downstream from the MC4R. There seems to be a great understanding of the neurohormonal and biochemical pathway leading up to MC4R binding.
