Muscle pull or strain in bicep and shoulder

I was doing bicep curls very light weight, my shoulder was already sore but i decided to workout anyway.  I was doing light incline Bicep Curls and felt a snap in shoulder where bicep goes into shoulder.  Immediately the shoulder pain I had was gone but the bicep was sore.  I stopped and went home.  Next day bicep was at least a half inch bigger than the other and peaked more toward the outside of my arm.  Next day bruising but at bottom of bicep not top where snap was delt.  Pain isn,t bad unless I try to lift any amount of weight.  I have been icing it several times a day.  I figure it is a pulled muscle and probably not a complete tear because of the lack of pain most of the time.  Any thoughts on this would be helpful.  thanks

Hi, for any such pulls or strains the best is to do Conservative treatment till you get a chance to see your doctor. When this type of injury occurs, and a patient sustains a sprain, the ligaments of the affected region are stretched beyond their normal limits. Treatment of a sprained wrist (in cases where there is no fracture or significant instability) is the "RICE" method. If you are unsure of the severity of your sprained region, talk to your doctor before beginning any treatment or rehabilitation. Bye

         when you did that could you not move your arm in serten areas????????????

There is a good possibility that you tore the ligaments that hold the tendon to the bone.  You need to go to an orthopedist for an xray to make sure.  If it is a tear it will not get better for a very long time, or it may need surgery to repair the tear.  If is only a sprain, you will need to wear a sling and rest the muscle.  A doctor needs to assess the arm.
