Need someone to shine a light

Hello:

My concern is that I'm an endurance athlete and I think that I've been over training. I've been feeling dizzy a few times but my training is vigorous at times, so I thought it might had been related to that. Just in case I had a blood work done Weds. Everything in my blood was great except for my AST levels which where high at 437 and the ALT where also high at 171.  I called my primary care physician on Thursday morning and I told him that I was feeling a little dizzy again and he told me to go to the ER.  In the ER my AST and ALT levels where checked again and they had dropped some.  Now my AST was at 300 and my ALT was at 159.  They also did an Ultrasound of my liver and gallbladder and everything was fine.  The doctor at the ER told me that he did not believe that the high levels of my liver enzymes where related at all with Hepatitis, also given the fact that I do not drink or do drugs at all.  Although, the more I read in the internet about it the more I get confused.  Some sites point out that when a person does have Hepatitis their enzymes do not drop and other say otherwise.  I'm currently awaiting the results of my Hepatitis analysis but I was wondering if anyone has any input on this.  Any information will be greatly appreciated!!

Elevations of these enzymes can occur with muscle damage also. The interpretation of elevated AST and ALT levels depends upon the entire clinical picture and you are doing great as your liver is healthy and you do not consume alcohol or drugs.
Wait for your Hepatitis analysis as that would come normal as you do not have any infection presently. Rise of antibody titre would be present even if you had a vaccine or past infection.
Rest for few days and see if your AST & ALT levels decrease further, if it does then it surely is due to your rigorous athlete training. Take care!
