Hi there!
This is likely to be due to lack of adaptation and some minor amount of trauma like ligamental or tendon strain. However serious injuries like fractures, ligamental/ tendon tears would need to be ruled out as well. To minimize the amount of trauma, it is advised to wear soccer shoes with adequate foot heel and arch support and adequate padding especially in the front. I would suggest consulting a sports medicine specialist or an orthopedician for an evaluation to rule out serious injuries and appropriate specific management, if required. Meanwhile you may try resting and immobilizing the foot and keeping it elevated. Use of crepe bandage may be helpful with this. Application of ice-packs may also be used for a temporary relief id required.
Hope this is helpful.
Take care!
