Pelvic pain during run

At the beginning of my runs, I am experiencing very sharp pain in my pelvic area. If I continue to push through the pain, it eventually eases to a tolerable level. I jumped over a steam during my last golf round, and experienced a very severe sharp pain in the same area. I don't notice any pain when I am walking. Is this a symptom that is cause for great concern? What possible issues does this indicate?

See your doctor and likely a physical therapist afterwards.  I pulled a lower ab muscle called the psoas a few years ago and had similar symptoms.  Once I understood the problem and started specific exercises the pain went away and I was able to resume all activities.  Good luck.

It could be constipation or an enlarged prostate.

It could be anything from a labral tear or a muscle! I suggest seeing your doctor. You might need an MRI.
