Pulled arm muscle from pull-ups

Pulled arm muscle from pull-ups

I was doing my regular routine about 3 months ago and felt sharp right forearm pain when doing wide grip pull-ups.  I backed off but every week, the same thing occurred so I got a bit frustrated and just worked through it about six weeks ago.  Now, my arm and even my shoulder hurt after going through my bench, shoulder or light pull-up workout.

I believe I pulled a muscle and my question is how long does this take to heal?  I took 2 weeks off awhile ago and thought everything was fine but the pain returned when resuming my routine.

Thanks

Hello!

If you had a muscle or a tendon sprain it will take time to heal completely. It depends on the amount of injury you had and for that appropriate rest and therapy is required.

I would suggest you not to force yourself as you may damage the healing muscle if you continue your pull-ups so continue doing some for of cardio and avoid for some days.

Follow up with an orthopedician for a proper diagnosis and care.

Apply ice packs and you can take some non steroidal inflammatory medications.

Take care!
