Shoulder Pain - Calcific Tendinitis?

Shoulder Pain - Calcific Tendinitis?

I have has a recurring pain in my shoulders that comes and goes once every year since I was a little girl (15 years now). It starts on one side and hurts anywhere from 3-6 weeks and then suddenly gets better, just as the other shoulder starts to hurt. It hurts to lift my arm away from my body especially above shoulder height. The pain is worse at night and I wake up in pain almost every night during the episode. I haven't been to the doctor   since I was a kid, even then I wasn't diagnosed with anything, but I have been reading online and it seems that I may have Calcific Tendinitis. Has anyone has similar symptoms? Does it sound like this is what I have? I was prescribed 800 mg of IB Profuin and it doesn't help, neither does ice or a sling. In fact keeping it still makes it worse. Please help!!!
