Steady Left calf pain.

Approx. 48 hours ago I had a n unexpected calf pain occur. I had not been exercising or active at all that day. I was simply standing having a conversation with one of my friends and it suddenly hit me. I went to the doctor and he told me it was simply a strained muscle. I ran track for my school and I know what a stretched muscle feels like. No rest seems to help it, and when I sit down I have a throbbing sensation in my ankle. There isn't any swelling or discoloration. My running shoes are broke in and I stretch before and after my daily run. I have taken Tylenol, Ibuprofen, and Naproxen and nothing seems to give me any relief. The specific pain area is down the left side of my left calf. My calf itself is not sore or tender to touch on the back, and I can point and flex my foot. It hurts the worst whenever I sit down, and slightly bend over. A very sharp shooting pain goes down into the roof of my foot. The main pressure point where it hurts to touch is on the left side of my left calf, but midway down between my knee and my ankle. Could it be simply a stretched muscle? Should I try to seek other medical attention?

i have this steady pain in my calf and it has a very sharp pain . It is very tender to the touch or can i say it feels like a stabbing pain in the middle of my calf what could this be.
