Why do I not sweat?

I am 34 years old and barely sweat anymore. I am a contractor so my job requires me to be outside no matter how hot it is. In probably about the last 7-8 years my sweating has almost stopped causing my heat tolerance to decline dramatically. My point is, if I cant sweat, I cant tolerate the heat, and my livelihood is gone. I used to sweat very well when I was younger. Heat was not a problem. My "doctor" says he has no idea why this is happening. I need help so that I can keep going

I would suggest you to check your parasympathetic and sympathetic functions as sweating is controlled by this system of your nervous system.

You should follow up with a neurologist for a proper diagnosis and if required you will be prescribed some cholinergic medications. Avoid deodorants and antiperspirants and review all medications if you are taking any.

There are two types of sweat glands. The eccrine glands, which we are born with and which are the most numerous, produce most of the sweat in the underarms. These glands open directly onto the surface of the skin. Apocrine glands, which are triggered by emotions, develop in areas abundant in hair follicles, such as the scalp, underarms, and genitals.
