blue fingers while running

blue fingers while running

hi, i have a relatively low blood pressure of about 90/60 or 80/50. When running my hands feel clammy and white like there is poor circulation. However the other day the tips of my fingers actually turned blue. Is this dangerous, and what could be causing this?

Hi.

Your symptoms may be a sign of hypoxemia, and could be related to more serious conditions such as pulmonary and heart diseases. The cyanosis seen at the fingers could be secondary to slow movement of oxygenated blood or due to peripheral vasoconstriction which is exercise-induced.

Peripheral artery disease as well as congestive heart failure are common causes of cyanosis.

You should consult a cardiologist at the earliest possible time.
