It depends on how you define "feel fit". Most individuals who begin exercising feel the benefits immediately (feel more energized, sleep better, feel healthier, etc...). My advice is find a personal trainer who is certified, has at least 2 years of experience, and whom you feel comfortable with. Interview them and see if you think they are a good match for you. Communicate with them about what your overall health and fitness goals are. Tell them about your physical limitations and the fact that these limitations concern you. Ask them if they have experience with the types of musculoskeletal problems you have.
