popped leg muscle

hey all i joined this forum just to ask this question. i'm gonan explain this as best as i can.. the other day i went running for a bit nothing major just jogged for a bit, that night was a scorcher so i slept with the fan on me.  i sleep on a couch, i woke up the next morning and did a stretch b4 i got off the couch and my calf muscle popped out and moved to the side, i massaged it for a bit but then i started feeling really sick like i was gonna vomit, so i ran to the bathroom and all of a sudden my eyesight was turning white and my hearing was getting muffled, and got really dizzy.. it passed after a few moments  and i couldnt step on my foot for about 2 hours, after that it seemed fine, its a bit big now but nothing major, my question is, does anybody know why i felt so sick and had my vision and hearing impaired from this? thank you

Hi liquidsilverbluedragon, thanks again for your reply and having updated the section. It is better to take rest and continue gentle massage with hot fomentation or a pain gel. Straining the muscle further will delay the healing. Hope the orthopedic doctor comes out with a better answer and you will be convinsed. Do not over massage the muscle or try to irritate it. Also better not to bear the weight unilaterally. Keep patience and be calm. Do update on your visit and the doctor advice. Take care.

Hi liquidsilverbluedragon, how are you? Hope you are feeling better and the muscle pain has also reduced? Thanks for the reply. I feel it is due to the reflex mechanism and pain threshold, since you had a sudden muscle pull. Did you have other associated symptoms like vomiting, blurred vision and fainting sensation? Do gentle massage and hot fomentation as advised and consult an orthopedic doctor if symptoms recur. Get your blood sugar and blood pressure checked? Take rest and keep updated on your progress. Take care.

Hi liquidsilverbluedragon, how are you doing? Yes, It is possible to get pulled muscle or strain when you suddenly contract your muscle like sneezing, violent coughing, lifting heavy weight, push-ups, jumping, heavy kick and so. Muscle needs to relax and it takes some time. Complete rest and heat locally is very helpful. To counter pain, you may take a painkiller and a muscle relaxant with food for couple of days. Gentle massage and steam bath will be soothing. Avoid sternous exercises, cycling, taking stairs, any sports for couple of weeks. If still you do not get any relief, consult a surgeon for an examiantion. Take care and share your thoughts.
