The number one thing you shouldn't do is put yourself down!

1.Listen to music that you love. Example:me:AC/DC

2.Call up a friend and chat.

3.Don't pay to much atttention to the scale.Adds more stress.Just go by how you feel comfortable wihtyourself.

Nothing is wrong with you.  I know how you feel.  It is a cycle and a hard one to break.  You feel down, so you do less, you gain more so you feel down, you do less you gain more, on and on.  You need to break that cycle.  This may sound odd, but a little motto I rely on is: The more I do the more I will do.  It just means that if you get up and walk for 10 mintues, you will find yourself doing more later.  If you get up and become active you will start a new cycle.  The converse is: The less I do the less I will do.  If the cycle is not broken soon, getting up to anser the phone will be a pain.
So, when you feel like doing nothing, change that pattern and do something, anything.

maybe you should see a dr.  It can be something you have no control over like your thyroid or depression.  I have a friend who is teh same age as you and she just went through the whole thing w/ gaining weight due to depression.  Your mental and physical health are tightly connected...if one is out of balance so will the other be.  Our thyroids can become unbalanced very easily...please just get a check up.  good luck.

I agree with jifnif you could have a thyroid problem and depression is on your plate for sure as well as altered body image.  Are you tired, sleep alot and have no energy?  All of those symptoms go hand in hand with thyroid malfunction as well as depression.  If you thyroid checks out okay then seek some counciling many people stress eat and then get depressed at the result.  I was a size 6 before nursing school and now 14 YIKES.  See your Doctor to make sure you are not having a physical problem and treat the depression.
