stree fracture

i suffered from shin splints which in turn caused a stree fracture in my right leg. I sought medical advise and eventualy (after a long period of pure rest) it went away (and i have scans to prove that its gone!). Yet still, almost a year on im suffering from acute pain in the area where i had the stree fracture. Doctors and physio are puzzled, im getting increaingly frustrated! Does anyone know whats causing the pain? How to prevent it?
