My fiance has been experiencing left arm and left leg numbness and tingling, especially when he looks down. He is in a softball league and has noticed more problems. When he tries running, he looses control of his leg because he cannot feel it anymore. He ends up running with his leg flopping around or falling on his face. I was hoping someone could give some feedback on what might be the problem. Thanks for your time.
It is possible that the old shoes caused your problem, but I tend to think that it is unlikely. Where is the leg numbness? Back of the thigh? Without examining you, I don't know if the tingling in the arch was due to sprain/strain, plantar fascial involvement, or "nerve pain." In other words, did you irritate or injure some foot structures, which led to your issues, or do you have a "pinched" nerve in your lower back or hip which caused the foot tingling? Due to your current muscular weakness, it seems to indicate nerve impingement. I just don't think that your shoes could have caused all of this. It would be wise to consult with a podiatrist and/or orthopedic doc.
