trouble with body mechanics

Several months ago I was working out when I heard a bunch of popping and clicking.  I was doing exercises for my forearms and I think I may have been using too much weight (I'm not sure if this is carpal tunnel or what).  The feelings of numbness radiate all up and down my upper body.  It seems like it starts at my neck, I can almost feel my spine poking through it.  When I walk, I don't quite have the spring in my step that I used to (my feet feel very heavy.)  I have tried just about every approach to this point, even so far as to seeing a chiropractor, but I couldn't afford it and I don't think it was really effective.  What did I do to myself and how can I make it so I can function normally again?

Hello!

Carpal tunnel syndrome is when you have problem in the medial nerve and your palms and fingers are affected along with other symptoms. You can rule this out by an examination and eliciting Tinel's sign and Phalen's sign. You can also go for nerve conduction test for confirmation.

I would suggest you not to lift weights and take a break till properly diagnosed. Any problem in the cervical spine can give symptoms in your upper limbs and any problem in the lumbar spine can give symptoms in the lower limbs.

You would need to go for an orthopedic examination for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Take care!
