Accommodative spasm

by Ellis45, Jan 26, 2006 12:00AM
My optician says I have accommodative spasm, they supplied my +5.00 glasses(im longsighted) and have been wearing them now for a week, she said that it could take up to 3 weeks for my eyes to relax again but there still in spasm mode. I have been doing eye exercies to but it's still the same. I'm worried my eyes are going to be stuck like this but she says they won't. It's affecting my life that much I can't do anything.

Thanks for the reply.

yes, if you really have accommodative spasm, it could take weeks to get over.

a person *could* have it turn into a longer duration problem, depending on their specific rx and circimstances, but if your optician says no, then i'd believe her.  just do what she says and see what happens.

this is certainly not a DANGEROUS or blinding condition...
