Any problems having Lasik with Drusen condition?

At 11 years of age, our son was diagnosed with Drusen. Several test were run (due to swollen optic nerves) including peripheral vision tests and everything was fine. Now at 20 years of age, he wants Lasik, to not have to wear glasses or contacts (current contacts are –5.25). The surgeon will be doing a peripheral test again and if there are no issues, the surgery will be performed shortly. Because of his Drusen conditions, are there any possible future complications that we should NOT consider the Lasik? Thanks
