Blister-like bubble on eyeball

by okieb, Dec 26, 2006 12:00AM
A couple of days ago I felt that I had lint or something in my eye, but when I looked at it, I found a small blister like bubble on my eyeball.  I've never seen anything like this.  It isn't extremely painful, just more dry & scratchy feeling.  Is this common and what could be the possible causes?

if it is actually on the white part of your eye its probably a phlyctenule.

the atricle above says phlyctenule is caused by staph, but i ahve also seen them occur with excessive RUBBING.

anyway, they are not dangerous.  usually self resolving with no medication.  if you have been rubbing it, stop.  if it persistes past a few days or worsens, go to the eye doctor.  even if it worsens and needs medical treatment its still not dangerous...only annoying.
