Blue-light eye damage worries

I am 21 years old.  I work in a lab where I use a high-intensity blue light (about 410nm) to cause fluoresence in bacteria.  I have been doing this for about 1.5 years.  I generally use the light in a dark room for about 30 minutes per day.  I would do this for about 2 weeks, take a couple weeks off, and then run the experiment with the blue light again.  The light is not shined directly into my eyes, but is the only light in the room.  It is shined down toward agar plates as I hover over to monitor the effects.

I am concerned about macular degeneration or other problems caused by this exposure to the high-intensity blue light.  What would be symptoms of damage?  Is eye pain a symptom?  What could/should I do?  Have I done irreversible damage?
