Blurred vision, double vision, rings/auras

by BB1961, Feb 11, 2006 12:00AM
I'm 44 & recently diagnosed with Macular Degeneration and Epilepsy. which both specialists say are genetic in my case, although no family history on either side. Vision problems are multiple - double vision, halos, floaters & my vision varies & is not correctable. Pinhole test shows 20/20 vision, would like to wear pinhole glasses! Had Lasik in 1999 & enhancement in 2000. Vision has never been "stable" since diagnosed as near-sighted in 1975....except for not needing glasses/contacts for 4 years after Lasik. Been tested for diabetes & MS, had tear ducts sealed to improve Cornea health. Mac is "dry" but testing is every 6 mos. to see if it's "wet" kind yet.
Is there some other disease or disorder that could result in these 2 diagnoses which could really be something else all together with Mac & Epilepsy posing as symptoms? I should note I've never had an epileptic seizure. Vision is 20/100 & 20/80, most often. Any ideas I haven't explored?
